Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A caring and inclusive primary school in Nottingham is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team after the October half-term break.

The Role

This full-time role involves supporting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who need additional help to access learning. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide one-to-one and small group support, helping children develop confidence, manage their emotions and achieve their potential. The position may involve supporting pupils with autism, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health needs.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and small group support under the guidance of teaching staff and the SENCO Implement strategies from Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) Encourage inclusion and ensure pupils feel supported and valued Assist with classroom routines and help maintain a calm, structured setting Observe and record progress, sharing feedback with teachers and parents

Requirements

Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school environment A patient, empathetic and resilient attitude towards behaviour and emotional needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Awareness of safeguarding and inclusive education practices A relevant qualification is desirable but not essential
