Do you have a patient, caring nature and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs? A friendly and inclusive primary school in Retford is looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team after the October half-term break.

About the Role

This full-time role will see you working closely with pupils who need extra help to thrive at school. You'll provide individual and small-group support for children with a range of needs, such as autism, ADHD, communication delays and social, emotional or mental health challenges. Guided by the SENCO and class teacher, you'll help ensure every pupil can access learning, develop confidence and make steady progress.

Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored classroom and pastoral support for pupils with SEN Help deliver specific strategies and interventions linked to EHCP targets Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and engagement in learning Support teachers with adapting lessons and classroom activities Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents to promote consistency and progress

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children who have special educational needs, ideally within a primary setting A calm, understanding and adaptable approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Awareness of safeguarding and effective support practices A relevant qualification, such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, is an advantage but not essential
