environment.
This
full time
position is term-time only (Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm), offering stability and consistency for both staff and students. The role provides exceptional training and development opportunities, making it ideal for individuals looking to build a long-term career in education or SEN support. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or personal experience supporting individuals with SEN is highly beneficial, but genuine enthusiasm and commitment are equally valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with
Autism
, ADHD, and learning difficulties within a
mainstream secondary
classroom setting.
Assist in implementing and reviewing Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) under the guidance of the SENCO.
Adapt learning materials and resources to meet individual student needs.
Support classroom teachers in promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
Encourage communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills, especially for non-verbal
Autism
students.
Track and report on student progress, ensuring feedback is shared with teachers and SEN staff.
Promote independence, resilience, and self-confidence among students.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support.
Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all pupils.
