Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support our Alternative provision in fostering a positive learning environment for children. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, including autism. This role involves assisting in delivering engaging lessons and providing individual support to students, ensuring that each child has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially.

Duties

Assist in planning and implementing educational activities tailored to the needs of students. Provide one-on-one support to children requiring special education assistance. Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere. Communicate effectively with the manager, children, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative approach to education. Support children in their daily routines, including toddler care and personal care when necessary and needed. when necessary. Observe and document progress, contributing to assessments and reports as required. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education and child development.

Experience

Previous experience working with children is essential, particularly in an educational or childcare setting. Familiarity with special education practices and strategies for supporting children with autism is highly desirable. Strong communication skills are vital for effectively engaging with students and collaborating with teaching staff. A passion for educating young minds and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all learners is crucial.
