The Role
We are looking for a
RSL Music Business Teacher
to join our SupaJam community! Answering to the College Leader, this is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate, adaptable and resilient person to thrive at a rapidly-growing alternative education provider. The successful applicant will work closely with the College Leader, Learning Support Practitioners, Administration Team, Director of SEND, Director of Safeguarding to ensure that SupaJam's operational processes are robust and that safeguarding duties are upheld. The ideal candidate will radiate SupaJam's ethos in everything they do. As an important member of the team, the successful applicant will manage the quality of education being delivered, safeguarding incidents, ensure all health and safety protocols are adhered to, and will be the centre of information for the base. Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and deliver a high quality curriculum that challenges the needs of all students, as outlined in the Teaching, Learning and Assessment Policy.
Deliver and record high quality student assessment to support student learning and progression, assessing learner work and offering detailed, timely and meaningful feedback in accordance with RSL criteria.
Maintain high standards of positive student behaviour, including attendance and punctuality.
Read and use resources effectively to ensure all educational needs of students are supported, including students' Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Use administration time effectively to mark, plan, and maintain accurate records across SupaJam systems, such as assessment, behaviour, safeguarding, progress reports etc.
Document and work towards student targets across all aspects of the students' learning journeys.
Work collaboratively with all departments to support the students with their additional curriculum, behaviour, attendance, and outcomes.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to complete pupil progress and curriculum reviews.
Read, understand and adhere to the Further Education and Skills Handbook framework and the Teacher's Standards framework and apply guidance across all aspects of your role.
Develop resources to support the needs of students, such as Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
Foster positive partnership with parents and guardians including regular communication and updates on student progress.
Effectively communicate with LSPs to ensure the needs of the students are met in every lesson.
Attend and input into student annual reviews.
Support with external trips and events such as Careers trips, performances, festivals, guest speakers, open evenings etc, including out of hours events throughout the year as directed.
Support students during lunch breaks as per the staff rota.

Person Specification
Essential
Candidates will ideally have Qualified Teacher Status but must have a minimum Level 3 teaching qualification.
Musical or experience of teaching music in the past (including music technology).
Candidates must have a minimum of GCSE English and Maths or equivalent recognised qualifications at a level 2.
The ability to uphold the SupaJam ethos at all times and manage difficult situations calmly.
Be creative, enthusiastic and resourceful and be able to provide fun and engaging learning sessions.
Have a great sense of humour, endless patience and the ability to engage with young people on their level.
A willingness to learn new skills, take on additional responsibility and work as part of a team.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS.
Pass all teacher checks.
Desirable
Experience of teaching music in a classroom, preferably secondary and above.
L5 DET/QTS/QTLS.
Experience of the RSL syllabus.
SEND experience and experience of students with reduced awareness of social values and appropriate behaviour in social situations.
Behaviour management experience.
Strong organisational skills.
