The Role
This is a newly created position designed to strengthen our company and support the Senior Leadership Team in delivering outstanding client work. You'll manage a wide range of clients, mentor a junior colleague, and play a key role in maintaining smooth operations and high standards across the practice.
We're looking for someone who's technically strong, dependable, and proactive; someone who thrives in an evolving environment and takes real pride in their work. This is a hands-on role where you'll make an immediate impact and help shape how we grow.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a wide portfolio of clients, providing accurate, timely, and proactive advice.
Prepare and review year-end accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns.
Support and mentor a junior team member, helping them progress.
Liaise closely with Senior Leadership Team to manage workflow, priorities, and deadlines.
Handle client queries across bookkeeping, tax, and software.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (money laundering, quality assurance, etc.).
Contribute to continuous improvement and process efficiency across the practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
5+ years' experience in practice.
Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
Confident with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, Teams).
Working knowledge of Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero.
Self-motivated, reliable, and keen to take ownership and get things done.
Desirable:
ICAEW / ACCA-qualified
Strong technical understanding of accounts for small, owner-managed businesses.
Experience mentoring junior team members.
Interest in improving systems and workflows.
Experience with payroll management and/or HMRC enquiries.
