As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated qualified accountant on a Part-Time basis to join our team and play a key role in the ongoing success of our clients and practice.

About the Role



We are seeking an experienced fully qualified accountant to join our growing accountancy practice on a hybrid working basis. The ideal candidate must be based in Glasgow or the surrounding areas to facilitate occasional in-person meetings and client interactions as required.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a proactive and client-focused individual to work with a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality accountancy and advisory services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting business growth and client success. The candidate will report directly to the Business Owner and will oversee another member of staff. You will be expected to contribute to the strategic growth and positive development of the practice.

Key Responsibilities



Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in compliance with UK GAAP. Preparation and submission of corporation tax returns (CT600) and self-assessment tax returns. Managing client relationships and managing client expectations. Assisting clients with tax planning and compliance, offering basic advisory services. Liaising with clients, HMRC, and other relevant parties to resolve queries efficiently. Overseeing a junior member of staff, assisting with training and development; and as the practice grows, develop your own team. Working with cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and other relevant platforms. Ensuring compliance with HMRC and other regulatory bodies, keeping up to date with changes in tax laws and accounting standards.

Essential Requirements



Fully qualified ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW, etc. accountant with at least 3 years post-qualification experience in an accountancy practice. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong technical accounting knowledge, including UK GAAP and tax regulations. Experience in preparing year-end accounts, corporation tax returns, and self-assessments. Excellent communication and client management skills, with the ability to explain financial information in a clear and accessible manner. Proficiency in cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage. Must have interpersonal skills and enjoy working with junior members of staff. Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with the business owner.

Desirable Requirements



Experience with basic advisory and business support services for SMEs. Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff. Strong commercial awareness and ability to contribute to the growth and success of the practice.
