The Role





The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the finance function and is responsible for the month-end close process, reconciliation reporting, variance analysis, audits, enforcing department accounting policies and other ad-hoc projects. Additionally, this role assists with our SAP initiatives and internal and external financial reporting. This position reports directly to the Finance Manager (UK/Ireland/South Africa).



Accountabilities


Ensuring the consistent integrity of information, in a timely manner. Compliance with internal and external accounting policies, procedures and legislation.


Responsibilities


Management of the month end process to ensure completed to prescribed timelines Reconciliation and posting of payroll information into SAP Accruals posting, based on cost centres revision and in collaboration with business and manufacturing finance. Monthly review of balance sheet of 2 legal entities to identify and resolve any issues Local Taxes calculation and Payments VAT returns and associated work, duty deferment, C79, EEC Sales (IR), ... Work closely with Tax advisor to deliver tax computations and prepare Tax Calculation Monthly review of balance sheet of 2 legal entities to identify and resolve any issues Manage and support external audits Perform other special projects as needed.

Competencies, Qualification & Experience Required





Essential


ACCA/CIMA Qualified/experienced part-qualified Microsoft Office - in particular strong Excel skills SAP / or ERP system


Desired


Bachelors-Accounting or related Experience of operating within a busy finance environment
