The Job




You will be a senior point of contact for suppliers and an escalation point for the Accounts Payable team. You will ensure that supplier invoices are accurately coded, approved, and processed. As a key member of the team, you will be on hand to support with resolving supplier disputes, you'll demonstrate problem-solving skills and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will actively look for ways to move the department forward and streamline processes.


Verify accuracy of invoices, ensuring correct coding is applied and that invoices are paid within the suppliers specified terms


Allocation of direct debit and proforma payments to ensure unallocated payments are kept to a minimum


Review supplier statement reconciliations and rectify any discrepancies


Assist with the distribution of workload amongst the team and supporting with training when needed


Become an ambassador for the AP automation solution and a key department contact for training and support


To support the Accounts Payable supervisor in ensuring the team are hitting weekly & monthly targets


To manage the employee expenses and company credit card processes


To accurately process supplier payment runs on a weekly basis.


To be an advocate of change within the team and help with process improvements across the department.


To help build relationships with internal and external stakeholders by answering queries in a timely and helpful manner


Adhering to agreed processes and controls, ensuring compliance with best practice


Performing other similar duties and responsibilities as and when required to support the finance team of a team in a fast-paced environment


To adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED




Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


Proven track record of process improvements


Ability to multitask


Strong excel skills (VLookUps & Pivot Tables)


Previous experience of training stakeholders of varying seniority levels


Ability to communicate effectively with all levels across the organisation


Strong attention to detail


Enthusiastic and positive attitude

A genuine interest in developing others and moving the department forward
