About our Team

Sitting within the Technical Infrastructure and Operations function, the Analytics team develops and maintains high-quality management reporting to drive Elsevier\xe2\x80\x99s technology infrastructure and operational performance. We work with senior management across Technology and the wider business to deliver robust insights about Elsevier\xe2\x80\x99s technology estate. Elsevier provides our customers with powerful digital solutions, helping them research the biggest problems facing the world today. About the Role

You will be developing operational insights reports in Tableau for senior management and other business stakeholders. You will be building and maintaining robust underlying data models. You will work with stakeholders across Operations and Technology teams to gather requirements. You will translate these into compelling reports on how we best manage our AWS resources, software assets and other areas of operational performance. You will support the development of data pipelines and workflows to streamline data integration for reporting. You will collaborate with other teams to establish and implement data quality standards and procedures. This role maps to Elsevier\xe2\x80\x99s Data Analytics career framework with clear development opportunities and career path.

Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Analysing large operational datasets with a focus on data integrity and accuracy

\xc2\xb7 Designing, implementing and maintaining user-friendly dashboards in Tableau

\xc2\xb7 Collaborating with business stakeholders and cross-functional project teams to establish reporting requirements and deliver impactful analytical solutions

\xc2\xb7 Integrating data from various sources and developing efficient data analysis scripts using Python and SQL for data cleansing and preparation

\xc2\xb7 Leveraging AWS services and tools for data ingestion, storage, and analysis, such as S3, Athena, Glue, and QuickSight

\xc2\xb7 Identifying data anomalies and inconsistencies and ensuring data accuracy and quality

\xc2\xb7 Developing and maintaining data governance documentation to ensure clear communication and alignment with stakeholders

\xc2\xb7 Working with data engineers and architects to capture and manage metadata and establish data lineage documentation

\xc2\xb7 Taking ownership of assigned initiatives and being proactive in seeking clarity where needed to drive work to completion

Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate an agile mindset, be flexible and able to prioritise in response to changing requirements

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate curiosity and a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving and attention to detail

\xc2\xb7 Understanding of data governance principles, best practices, and industry standards

\xc2\xb7 Experience with AWS environment, in particular Lambda, S3, Athena, or equivalent technologies

\xc2\xb7 Significant experience in a data analytics or business intelligence lead role

\xc2\xb7 Experience with Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation, understanding of SQL and relational databases

\xc2\xb7 Experience working with large and complex data sets, data profiling and cleansing

\xc2\xb7 Experience of data modelling and schema design, data visualisation and creating dashboards in Tableau
