Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technician to join our team, working on a range of industrial and commercial projects.

Please note this is a senior-level role requiring proven industry experience.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum

5-7 years post-qualification experience

in an architectural technician role, ideally within industrial and/or commercial sectors. Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, planning processes, and construction detailing. Proven ability to manage projects from concept through to completion with minimal supervision. Proficient in AutoCAD. Comfortable working independently and taking a lead role in technical design, coordination, and site stages.

Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed technical drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD software. Collaborate with consultants and design teams to develop design concepts into workable solutions. Ensure all designs comply with Building Regulations, planning requirements, and relevant standards. Liaise with contractors, consultants and clients to resolve technical issues during the construction phase. Conduct site visits to review construction progress and resolve any on-site technical issues. Undertake site meetings and act as contact administrator. Prepare accurate schedules, reports, and specifications as required.

Key Skills and Attributes

Proven experience as an Architectural Technician, with a strong portfolio showcasing your technical expertise. Proficiency in AutoCAD software. In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations, construction methods and materials. Ability to produce high-quality technical drawings and construction details. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors. Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications and Experience

A relevant qualification in Architectural Technology (e.g. HNC / HND, degree or equivalent) Chartered Membership with CIAT (or working towards chartership) is highly desirable. A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in an architectural or construction-related role. Experience in leading projects from technical design through to completion on site is essential.
