Role Overview:

We are looking for an ICB or AAT Qualified senior bookkeeper to work with our team to complete the bookkeeping tasks, VAT compliance, Payroll and CIS as well as preparing accounts to trial balance for a number of different clients in different sectors. You will also be essential in assisting clients with Xero, Quickbooks and Free agent queries.

Key Responsibilities:

Strong technical knowledge of VAT, CIS and a rounded knowledge of payroll. Review client VAT returns and offer practical, up-to-date VAT advisory support. Act as the main point of contact for client queries relating to VAT and bookkeeping. Excellent communication skills for client and HMRC liaison. Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure. Offer support to clients and team members on related Xero and Bookkeeping processes.

Bookkeeping Oversight

Reconcile balance sheet nominals, identifying and resolving discrepancies. Oversee and review bookkeeping assignments to ensure they are accurate, complete, and compliant. Provide ongoing training and guidance to junior bookkeepers to ensure high standards of work.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years' experience in an accountancy practice, with a strong focus on VAT and bookkeeping. AAT Level 3 qualified (or equivalent). Proven experience using Xero. Ability to commute to our office in Stevenage.

Pay: 34,000.00-39,000.00 per year

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Work Location: Hybrid - 3 days in office.
