Overview

The airports business unit is at the heart of SITA, which is at the heart of the air transport industry. This business unit is where experts in passenger, baggage, and airport operations work together to improve the journeys of over 4 billion people a year.

This role goes into the world of our customers and works with them to improve their operation. The role has a direct link to the experience of passengers and staff at the airport, it builds direct relationships and friendships that will last your entire career while providing work that is both engaging, exciting, and demanding.

In this role you must introduce customers to views of their operation that will interest and intrigue them, pique their interest on how to perform better and develop solution packages that meet the needs they didn\xe2\x80\x99t know that they had until you introduced them to it.

This is an opportunity to understand and explore operations at many different airports. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be the person who knows the difference between an operation in Tier 1 international hub in Asia and a regional origin and destination in the Americas, and can tell people what drives those differences. You\xe2\x80\x99ll never stop learning, developing experience and expertise that will grows you as a person.

Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

  • You are comfortable with airport, airline, and handler operations, including the wants and needs of passengers, staff, and management. You can emphasise with senior management and their day-to-day responsibilities. You will be responsible for meeting with these executives to present how their airport performs on key metrics that you will have developed.
  • As a consultant you are comfortable and responsible for understanding the industry challenges and presenting the professional image of how SITA can help with these challenges. You are responsible for researching and understanding customer\xe2\x80\x99s strategic plans, their as-is, and how to tactically reach their goals. You are responsible for judging overall price sensitivity and prioritising proposed solutions for major market segments.
  • You are responsible for creating benchmarks around these industry challenges, both for the industry and specific clients. You are responsible for planning which challenges are those customers would like to improve and therefore benchmark.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • You are responsible for identifying industry trends and understanding how these trends can be converted into metrics.
  • You design cross portfolio use cases and work with those teams to combine data available from different areas to provide business insights to our customers, that they are willing to pay for.
  • You work with customers and internal geographies to understand the market potential of benchmarks and use cases and assign effort and investment accordingly, managing a business plan.
  • You work with product teams and other data specialists to provide a compelling company wide Data Insights offering and improving their own offers as well.
  • You enjoy and are constantly learning about both the ATI and Data Science industry trends and technologies, and how they will impact Information Products. You react to market movements and trends and build actions to maintain customer relevance of the Product Suite.
  • You work with industry standard messaging and how it can be complemented, assembled, and processed to generate value.
  • You leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning principles and experts to improve our data strategies.
  • You contribute to the development of internal and external partnerships, evaluating offerings, and developing repeatable process frameworks to deliver value add, profitable services to customers.
  • You lead execution with minimal guidance, are creative in developing new solutions to problems, and work well in teams while being results oriented for the customer.
  • Manage customer relationships with buyer personas to ensure we build what customers are willing to pay for.
  • You manage partnerships and supplier relationships.
  • You engage and manage stakeholders within the organisation to ensure the progress of projects and offerings.

  • You have working knowledge of specific areas of the Air Transport business (e.g. Collaborative Decision Making, Total Airport Management, Airline GDS, Airport Operations, Passenger Processing, Baggage, IT Infrastructure etc)
  • You are comfortable in interacting with individuals at all management levels, especially key decision makers and are able to influence stakeholders.
  • Able to operate within and virtual teams. You navigate well in a matrixed environment.
  • You lead, guide and assist product teams in gathering market data and defining high level market requirements and functional specifications for the short, medium, and long terms.
  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, APIs, open data, microservices and predictive analytics.
  • Understanding of Data, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Reporting and Data Governance, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Education & Accreditation
  • Business, IT or DATA related degree required or equivalent experience
  • Master Data Management / Data science qualification and or experience desirable
  • A degree in Air Transportation is highly desirable
