About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and motivated Senior Business Support Officer to join our expanding Business Support team in Parking Services.
A key focus of this role will be helping us to provide a high quality and customer-focused service to our residents and service users, supporting, resolving and signposting customers at the first point of contact where possible regardless of the channel they have chosen to contact us.
You will also play a crucial role in supporting the team in the administration of Penalty Charge Notice correspondence and appeals, parking permits and assessment of Blue Badge applications and appeals.
You will:-
support the team to deliver daily work plan activities and organise team resources
support the team with more complex enquiries and escalated service requests and complaints
help ensure we have efficient operational processes and ways of working and support service improvement initiatives and innovation
Whilst no direct line management responsibility is held for staff, this role requires the ability to provide supervision, mentorship and feedback, operational guidance and training as needed.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to:
+ Influence and advise others effectively with clarity and confidence
+ Demonstrate empathy in understanding complex or emotive situations
+ Resolve escalated service requests or complaints and sensitive issues in a professional and constructive manner Ability to organise work plans and help manage team resources to meet the priorities and needs of the team
Experience in the use of multiple databases and good practical knowledge of ICT packages, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge
:
Proven ability to assimilate, interpret, and apply a range of legislative and regulatory frameworks
Working knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance is desirable but not essential
Skills
:
Ability to provide supervision, mentorship and feedback, operational guidance and decision making and training
Ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high levels of accuracy and timeliness
Collaboration
:
Ability to actively demonstrate and encourage a respectful, inclusive and professional team culture, demonstrating accountability, commitment to shared goals and collaboration
Able to work independently and proactively with initiative and self-motivation, as well as collaboratively across teams and departments

:
Ability to support the review of operational processes and contribute to innovative service redesign initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery standards
