Exciting Opportunity - Senior Business Support Officer





This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team, working across multiple sites, managing high workloads, and providing essential support to key services. We are looking to appoint a temporary Senior Business Support Officer to cover maternity leave for an initial period of one year.




About

the Role





As a Senior Business Support Officer, you will:


Organise inboxes and manage diaries effectively. Monitor and respond to enquiries efficiently. Support managers with meetings, minutes and reporting Managing Data Systems and accurate record keeping Handling sensitive or confidential information Excellent communication skills




You will provide vital support across the Lifelong Learning and Skills service, including:


Sheaf Training

- A post-16 Special Educational Needs centre.

Family Adult Community Education Service

- Delivering community-based adult learning.

Careers Development Centre

- Supporting apprenticeships and career development.



What We're Looking For





We need a committed, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual with:


Strong organisational and communication skills Experience in a business support or admin environment Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines Confident using IT systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, case management tools) Experience supervising or supporting colleagues is a plus A flexible, can-do approach with attention to detail

Requirements


5 GCSE or equivalent (including 1 GCSE in both English and Maths) NVQ Business Administration or equivalent is desirable. Proven experience in a similar administrative role. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
