Senior Business Support Officer to provide support to a
Childrens Senior Social Worker.
Are you an experienced administrator looking to take the next step in your career? We have an exciting opportunity for an SBSO to join our service for 7 hours per week.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated support worker to provide a one-to-one administrative support to an individual and provide tailored support as an SBSO to meet their specific needs. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. The Individual should be motivated, self-directed with the ability to communicate clearly to ensure that tasks are completed in time.
Key tasks:
Minute Taking, Meeting Support
Planning multiagency meetings
Room bookings
Diary management - plan meetings Identify and rearrange clashes
Retrieving and inputting information from case management systems and MS programmes.
Support in making IT request and logging issues
Book and attend face to face and virtual training as required in support of worker
Attend face to face and virtual training as required as an SBSO
Please note this is not an exhaustive list and is an Access to Work funded post to provide high-level administrative support to a worker with their recording responsibilities. The funding for the post will be reassessed in February 2028.
Requirements:
Experience in providing 1:1 administrative support is preferred, but not essential. Applicants should be patient, empathetic, and possess excellent communication skills, with a proactive and adaptable approach to support.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) or equivalent qualifications, along with proven experience in a similar administrative role. Strong organisational, and time management skills are essential, as well as the ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality. Applicants should be comfortable using IT systems such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Senior Business Support Officers need to be flexible regarding the location they work and must be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. You will be expected to manage your own workload and meet deadlines. Experience working in a busy office environment with a good understanding of office processes and procedures is important, as well as strong problem-solving skills.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
