Job Description

The University of Greater Manchester - City Campus, is an ambitious, teaching-led undergraduate education provider, primarily aimed at a widening participation student body. Based at Manchester Science Park, City Campus hosts students on a number of programmes in the areas of Business, Finance, Computing, and Health and Social Care related subjects.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Careers Consultant as soon as possible to help establish our new Employability Team. The key purpose of the role is to organise, establish and support employer engagement activities within City Campus, gather graduate labour market information, create opportunities for graduate employment, and work with the Employability Team and other City Campus colleagues to effectively establish, promote and deliver employability skill development sessions to our students. You may also be required to assist with general administrative tasks within our wider Professional Services team.

You will be educated to a minimum of degree level, be well-presented and articulate, and have previous experience of working with individuals or groups to help them develop their human capital. Hours of work are generally Monday to Friday, 0900 - 1730, with an hour for lunch, however, on occasion you may be required to staff events and activities on evenings and Saturdays, for which time-off in lieu will be granted. This is an on-site appointment and not suitable for home-working.

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE



Overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the Employability Strategy

Assisting management with the delivery of Employability KPIs to meet OfS expectations on student progression

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the Employability Strategy

Advising students on career opportunities and personal development

Engaging and maintaining relationships with potential graduate employers

Assisting students in career planning and job hunting

Coaching students for interviews

Assisting with general administrative arrangements within UoB Manchester as part of the Professional Services team.
