Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Carer to provide high-quality support to our clients in various settings, including home care, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual client needs. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being. Maintain accurate records of patient care, including observations and changes in behaviour or health status. Support clients with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and hospice care as needed. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in case management to ensure comprehensive patient care. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in senior care or caregiving roles is highly desirable, particularly in nursing homes or assisted living environments. Familiarity with medical terminology, first aid practices, and medication administration is essential. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Knowledge of behaviour management techniques for individuals with cognitive impairments is beneficial. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility challenges. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others maintain their dignity and independence. Pay: 12.50-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 - 46 per week
