Stork is a Pan-African restaurant in the heart of Mayfair. Our 120-cover restaurant spans two floors, offering sophisticated dining experiences with exceptional food and service.

THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced and talented Senior Chef de Partie to join our kitchen brigade. You'll be responsible for running your own section to the highest standards, mentoring junior chefs, and contributing to the development of our menu.
This is a role for a skilled professional who combines technical excellence with strong leadership abilities. You'll work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to maintain our exacting standards across food quality, consistency, and kitchen operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Section Management:
- Run your designated section efficiently during all service periods
- Ensure all dishes leaving your section meet quality and presentation standards
- Maintain mise en place levels and section organisation
- Monitor stock levels and minimise waste
- Ensure FIFO procedures are followed rigorously
Food Preparation & Quality:
- Prepare and cook dishes according to standardised recipe cards with zero deviation
- Maintain consistency in portion sizes, presentation, and taste
- Ensure all dishes are cooked to specification and served at correct temperatures
- Contribute ideas for menu development and specials
- Conduct quality checks throughout service
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and train junior chefs and commis on your section
- Delegate tasks effectively during service
- Provide constructive feedback and mentoring
- Lead by example in work ethic, standards, and professionalism
- Support the Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations
Compliance & Safety:
- Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and safety
- Follow all health and safety procedures
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
- Complete temperature checks and food safety logs
- Report any issues or concerns immediately

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
- Minimum 3-4 years experience as Chef de Partie in quality restaurants
- Proven ability to run a busy section independently
- Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene
- Experience training and supervising junior team members
- Excellent knife skills and classical cooking techniques
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Team player with positive attitude and work ethic
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum)
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- Experience in fine dining or similar high-volume quality establishments
- Knowledge of Pan-African and Caribbean cuisine
- Experience with menu development and costing
- Familiarity with stock control systems
- Additional culinary qualifications
