We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining our high standards of culinary excellence across both establishments. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, the Senior Chef will be responsible for leading a team, ensuring compliance with food and hygiene regulations, and consistently delivering exceptional dishes to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and motivate kitchen staff to achieve high levels of performance and guest satisfaction.
Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to implement seasonal menu changes and special event menus.
Act as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and culinary creativity.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience working in a professional kitchen environment, preferably to a 2-rosette standard.
Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire and motivate a team.
Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and flavor profiles.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations, with relevant certifications (e.g., Food Hygiene Certificate).
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
Flexibility to work a 4-day week with occasional 5-day weeks to cover holidays and sickness.
