Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Client Accountant to join a niche property consultancy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and accounting principles, with proficiency in various accounting software especially in relation to service charges.

Working alongside the Property Asset Managers, Facility Managers and Property Finance Team covering a client base managing circa 90 properties, 230 tenants, collecting rental income of 36 million and 38 Service Charge funds of mixed use.This role will involve overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, providing mentorship to junior staff members and deputising for the Head of Client Accounts .

Duties

Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Manage accounts payable and receivable functions to maintain healthy cash flow. Oversee the implementation and use of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft. Conduct regular audits of financial processes to identify areas for improvement. Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on best practices in financial management. Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and budgeting activities. Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and ensure the organisation adheres to all relevant laws. Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely submissions.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Senior Client Accountant or similar role within the financial services sector. Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices. Ideally AAT Qualified, Part Qualified ACCA, minimum 10 years' experience in Property Accounting. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members effectively. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration across teams.
