Job Description

The primary role of a Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the wider multidisciplinary team; in order to provide a safe and holistic approach to person-centred care. Learning new skills that will help further their career in the future
Main duties of the job
To assist with nursing duties within your own remit, to work alongside the qualified nurse to learn further skills. To lead a small team on health care assistants to gain the same skills. To advocate for the patients group and to escalate concerns to the qualified nurse.

They should be able to work independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses. Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Workers should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies at UHNM. They will be required to undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent. Job description

  • oHold a Care Certificate
  • oEvidence of professional development activity undertaken in relevant areas
  • oProficient in the use of Microsoft office: Word, Excel, access and Power-point
Knowledge

  • oMinimum of 12 months care experience
  • oAbility to cope with stress
  • oAbility to work as part of the wider team
  • oAble to utilise initiative
  • oAbility to organise and follow systems and processes
  • oAbility to manage time and achieve tasks in a timely manner

  • oEmotional resilience; the post holder will at times be exposed to distressing and emotional circumstances
