The primary role of a Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the wider multidisciplinary team; in order to provide a safe and holistic approach to person-centred care. Learning new skills that will help further their career in the future
Main duties of the job
To assist with nursing duties within your own remit, to work alongside the qualified nurse to learn further skills. To lead a small team on health care assistants to gain the same skills. To advocate for the patients group and to escalate concerns to the qualified nurse.

The Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker should actively contribute to the health and well-being of patients, staff and service users and be able to communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion. They should be able to work independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses. Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Workers should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies at UHNM. They will be required to undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent. Job description

• oEducated to GSCE level or Level 2 equivalent, including Maths and English
• oHold a Care Certificate
• oEvidence of professional development activity undertaken in relevant areas
• oProficient in the use of Microsoft office: Word, Excel, access and Power-point

• oMinimum of 12 months care experience
• oAbility to cope with stress
• oAbility to work as part of the wider team
• oAble to utilise initiative
• oAbility to organise and follow systems and processes
• oAbility to manage time and achieve tasks in a timely manner

• oEmotional resilience; the post holder will at times be exposed to distressing and emotional circumstances
• oAbility to cover a variety of shifts over 7 days a week including weekends and bank holidays
• oPositive mindset in respect of supporting organisational change; learning, and continuous improvement.
