Job Introduction

The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (MCA) is seeking to appoint a Senior Content Officer, to join the Communications team. Your key responsibilities in this role would be to ensure a focus on delivering the priorities of the Metro Mayor by:

Creating high-quality, engaging video and digital content Telling powerful stories that support the Mayor's vision and regional priorities Driving reach and engagement across our social and digital channels

This is your opportunity to bring creativity, storytelling and digital expertise to a high-impact role shaping the future of the West of England.


We're looking for a skilled visual communicator with a strategic mindset, creative flair and strong technical ability in digital content creation - particularly video and social media.

Why this role matters

This role will be pivotal in:

Supporting the Mayor and senior leaders by capturing and sharing impactful digital stories from across the region Developing and delivering compelling video and multimedia content Ensuring content is aligned with brand, accessibility, and messaging guidelines Completing on-the-ground content creation at events, visits and engagements Providing insights and analytics to inform and evolve our digital communications strategy

This is a 6 month fixed-term role.

The salary for this role is 42, 839 - 46, 142. This is the full-time equivalent salary, and will be pro-rata for part-time. We advertise salary ranges for job roles, with new appointments for external candidates typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, where higher skill levels or experience are applicable, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate. This approach allows for potential year-on-year salary increases, offering progression and appropriate rewards to employees.
