The

Senior Data Analyst

role sits within our Systems & Development team and you will act as a bridge between business teams and technical teams, supporting our Head of Systems & Development to ensure teams throughout the business have access to clear, easily understood reporting based on data from our data engineering platform.





You'll also help the SysDev team ensure that business processes are fit for purpose, and consume and produce the right information, making reporting and analysis of processes possible while reducing manual work for teams. You will work with business data from all business and operational support systems, collaborating with developers, business users, and system data owners to ensure data is managed and extracted for analysis properly, in accordance with industry best practices and our regulatory requirements.

Your key responsibilities are...




Development of reporting dashboards and displays, in collaboration with other business teams, to allow for clear operational views of the business, using PowerBI or similar tools Development of data engineering workflows to produce datasets for reporting, ad-hoc queries, and investigations using PySpark and SQL Identifying data errors, inconsistencies, and potential problems between systems or with business processes Identifying opportunities for improvement in systems and processes to drive simplification of data at source and reduce complexity in downstream processing activities Development of monitoring and tooling to support validation of system behaviour and investigation of data errors Ensuring Zzoomm retains data no longer than necessary, that processing activities are documented, and that we hold and use data in ways that meet or exceed our regulatory and legal requirements for privacy and security Documentation of data sources, business processes, and reports Documentation and management of business data objects Documentation of business taxonomies and vocabulary Support of system migration and change activities with data cleanup and checking

We're seeking a proactive and experienced

Senior Data Analyst

who has the experience and ability to collaborate with technical and operations teams, with a range of skill and data maturity levels. A strong understanding of good data governance and relevant legislation (UK GDPR etc). If you have experience within a similar role preferably in the FTTP industry and are eager to make a real impact, this role is perfect for you.


Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to document and explain complex findings in reports on datasets or analysis Good visual communication skills, with experience developing clear and easily-understood graphics, charts, and dashboards Experience with PowerBI, Quicksight, Tableau, or similar business intelligence/reporting tools Experience with numpy, Pandas, or similar Python data transformation/analysis tooling Experience of transformation programmes or projects involving system migrations Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, and SQL query authoring Software engineering experience in Python or similar languages Knowledge of git version control system usage and collaborative development principles Familiarity with Linux and MacOS systems Degree-level qualification in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or similar equivalent professional experience demonstrating your ability to work and think in an analytical manner
