Senior Development Manager - Hotel & Hospitality Sector

Madison Berkeley are delighted to be working with a rising star within the sector, a boutique developer and operator who are targeting the London & European Hospitality. After a few impressive rounds of capital raising they are in a strong position to deploy funds to build their central London & European portfolio through a mix of repurposing, refurbishments and ground up developments.



We are seeking a Development Manager with 6+ yrs of experience, ideally with a background in hospitality-led real estate. This is a hands-on delivery role, ideal for a Project Manager looking to step into a broader development position or an ambitious Development Manager wanting to scale with a growing business.


You will be responsible for managing 2-3 hospitality-led projects at once, with GDVs of 100m+. This is a hands-on role requiring collaboration across acquisitions, design, construction, and operations. Projects include ground-up developments, conversions, and repositioning of existing assets.


Key responsibilities include:


End-to-end development delivery from pre-acquisition to post-completion Coordination of external consultants and contractors Planning liaison and management of third-party issues (e.g., rights of light, party wall, utilities) Programme and budget oversight Input into design, procurement, and pre-opening operations Regular site presence and post-PC involvement to stabilisation
Candidate Profile


6+ years of experience in a Development Manager or Project Manager capacity Proven ability to deliver complex, high-value urban projects Hospitality experience preferred (alternatively PBSA, BTR or other living sectors) Solid knowledge of London planning policy and procedures Confident communicator, strong collaborator, and self-starter Comfortable working through all stages - from DD to operational handover Passion for hospitality, wellness, and user-led design is a plus
