Role overview

We are looking for an experienced

Senior Software Engineer

to join us working with our media client. The role is on their Build and Launch team supporting and building infrastructure for their flagship TV applications.



The successful applicant will be proficient writing Infrastructure-as-Code on AWS using CloudFormation and CDK and an expert in other AWS technologies including Lambda, CloudFront, EC2, CodePipeline, S3, EventBridge and CloudWatch. In addition, they will be confident using JavaScript to developing solutions on the architectures they are helping to design.



You will a great communicator and team player who enjoys collaborating across multiple teams, assisting developers with deployments using JavaScript and testers with unit and automation testing using Jest, Playwright or Postman.

Essential Key Skills and Knowledge

You will:


have expert knowledge of implementing Infrastructure-as-Code in AWS have strong knowledge of AWS technologies such as Lambda, CloudFront, EC2, CodePipeline, S3, EventBridge and CloudWatch have experience writing solutions using JavaScript (or TypeScript/Bash) be able to implement different types of testing (Jest, Playwright and Postman) enjoy working with junior team members to educate and upskill them have a strong willingness to learn and start delivering value quickly have an ability to determine and solve issues proactively (desired) have knowledge of monitoring and telemetry (desired) have some familiarity with writing React applications (desired) have professional experience of working in projects using Agile development processes have experience of writing and taking responsibility for technical documentation

Experience

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work-based experience Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies Experience with providing coaching and mentoring Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios Knowledge of software development tools and technologies You are flexible and curious in your approach Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Additional information

Duration of the contract:

initially 6 months with the possibility of extension - contract FTC
