Job Description

On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for a Senior Digital Technical Architect (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based Remote (Occasional travel to London office).



FCDO is delivering a major digital transformation programme to modernise its technology estate and deliver secure, scalable services globally. We're seeking a Senior Digital Technical Architect to lead enterprise-level architecture strategy for FCDO. This is a high-impact role where you'll define reference architecture, enforce governance, and ensure TOGAF-aligned documentation across a complex technology landscape.



As a Senior Digital Technical Architect your main responsibilities will be to:

Lead architecture strategy and ensure it's agreed and followed. Network and communicate with senior stakeholders across organisations. Proactively seek opportunities for digital transformation. Support multiple teams, applying best practice and emerging technologies. Inspire other architects and guide delivery of organisational goals. Own governance and solve complex, high-risk architectural issues.

Essential:

TOGAF certification and hands-on experience. Enterprise-level architecture leadership in large organisations. Strong governance and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience in Microsoft Azure (AWS exposure desirable). Experience producing architecture libraries and documentation at scale. Exposure to telecommunications environments desirable.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
