The Role

We are seeking an experienced

Senior Childcare Practitioner

to join our team. In this leadership role, you will work closely with the senior and management team to deliver high standards of care and education, ensuring children thrive in a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment.

Lead by example in delivering quality early years care and learning experiences. Support, mentor, and guide practitioners within your team. Ensure compliance with

Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)

requirements, and all relevant legislation. Contribute to the development and implementation of the centre's curriculum, following

Curriculum for Excellence

and

GIRFEC

principles. Maintain accurate observations, assessments, and records of children's progress. Work in partnership with parents, carers, and external agencies to support children's wellbeing and learning. Take on delegated responsibilities from the Manager/Deputy Manager, including rota planning and overseeing daily operations when required.
About You

SVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) is essential. SVQ Level 4 / HNC / PDA in Childhood Practice (or working towards) is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of Scottish early years frameworks (CfE, Realising the Ambition, GIRFEC). Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. A genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing.
