Contract Senior Electronics Engineer (Electromechanical Products) - Outside IR35
Contract Opportunity: A world leader in industrial safety systems is seeking an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer for an immediate contract to lead a critical product development project. Join a global engineering team focused on delivering high-quality, safety-critical access and locking systems.
The Role:
As the lead engineer, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle development of new electro-mechanical products. Key deliverables include:
Leading the technical design and delivery of new electro-mechanical products.
Developing comprehensive product and component specifications.
Coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers to meet project deadlines.
Reviewing and approving product designs, test plans, and recommending improvements.
Ensuring all product designs and project work comply with relevant safety regulations and international standards.
Essential Requirements:
We are looking for a hands-on contractor who can take ownership and drive the project from day one. Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. Extensive experience with electronics hardware, including both analogue (transistor, capacitor) and digital (FPGA, microcontroller) circuit design. Proven experience in full product lifecycle ("cradle to grave") development. Strong track record in the development of electro-mechanical products. Excellent communication skills, with experience in liaising with suppliers, third parties, and internal stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with mechanical design and CAD packages.
