Location - Flexible, UK or Essen, Germany or Dresden/Germany or Geertruidenberg, Netherlands

Contract Type - Permanent

Working Hours - Full time/part time considered

Role Description: As a Senior Expert Hydrogen and Electrolyser Systems within the hydrogen systems engineering department, you will support and lead the delivery of our national and international large-scale engineering projects with a focus on innovative technologies such as green hydrogen electrolyser plants and make an enormous contribution to our transition to Net Zero. Become a part of #TeamRWE and support us in tackling the challenges of the present and the future together by fulfilling the following key responsibilities, among others:

  • Lead the engineering aspects of the projects from conception to completion with a strong focus on the main component electrolyser.
  • Manage the relationship with different teams and departments including internal and external clients/contractors.
  • Understand stakeholder requirements to develop and deliver collaborative projects.
  • Managing the resource planning and budget for projects in conjunction with the engineering team leads and project managers.
  • Develop, review and present high quality project deliverables with a technical focus on electrolyser systems. Ensure RWE\'s QA procedures are followed for the deliverables.
  • Provide critical, technical and engineering
  • Support the departmental activities from time to time (including supervision of junior colleagues) and contribute to the department\'s growth.
Your profile:
  • Successfully completed degree in chemical engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable discipline.
  • Several years of professional experience with a strong track record of projects in the energy, manufacturing, chemical, steel, oil and gas or other relevant sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrolyser systems and / or fuel cells - design and/ or operation
  • Strong inter-personal and negotiation skills at all levels. Articulate and able to work with a diverse team of colleagues with backgrounds across science, engineering and management.
  • Substantial knowledge of industrial processes and demonstrate interest in new and sustainable technologies.
  • Results-oriented, able to meet tight deadlines and produce clear and concise information/options/decisions.
  • Willingness to travel in-country and abroad frequently
  • Business fluent in English.
Plus, not a must
  • Interest in topics such as water treatment, waste gas and gas purification and especially in shaping the energy transition
  • Additional language skills (German and/or Dutch) are extremely beneficial!
