Greatwell Homes owns and manages more than 5,000 homes in and around Wellingborough in Northamptonshire and our vision is \xe2\x80\x9cGreat communities where people live well\xe2\x80\x9d. We are now in year 2 of our 2022-25 Live Greatwell Corporate Plan and have recently retained our G1/V2 regulatory rating following an in-depth assessment.

We are looking for a technically strong Senior Financial Accountant with an eye for detail and a track record of automating processes through improved use of systems, driving efficiency in working practices.

This role is home based with a requirement to attend up to 2 staff away days each year in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

Within this role your main responsibilities will include:

Ensuring the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions

Preparing annual financial statements

Leading on the annual year end audit process

Preparing the 30 year business plan ensuring accuracy of cash flow forecasts and future funding requirements

Preparing timely and accurate data returns for submission

Monitoring and reporting on compliance with loan covenants

What we are looking for

Our successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Relevant professional accounting qualification / part qualification

Experience in a senior operational finance role including the preparation of Financial Accounts and management of the annual audit process

Familiarity with VAT legislation and HMRC returns

Experience of preparing financial forecasts and managing treasury related activities

Experience of managing / supervising a team

Knowledge of finance including legal, regulatory and operational issues

Effective communication skills

You will enjoy the challenge of a dynamic working environment where priorities can change at short notice but will be used to managing periodic tasks such as leading on the production of the financial statements and managing the annual audit.
