We're looking for an experienced Senior Financial Controller, comfortable with responsibility for management and overseeing the financial operations of the Company. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this position will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, implementing financial controls, analysing financial date and providing strategic guidance to the senior leadership team.

We specialise in a range of inverters and battery systems which allow our users to store their renewable/cheap-rate energy, ease pressure on the grid and save some serious money.
Key Accountabilities
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations, and relevant accounting standards.
Coordinate the annual budgeting process and develop financial forecasts, monitor and analyse budget performance identifying areas of concern or improvement.
Ongoing review of the working capital position to ensure sustainability of the cashflow position, and prepare cash flow forecasts to provide recommendations to optimise cash utilisation.
Establish and maintain robust financial control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with UK financial regulations.
Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement to provide meaningful insights and recommendations to senior management.
Conduct periodic internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial controls and identify areas for improvement.
Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Collaborate with department heads to ensure effective budget management, performance and adherence to financial targets.
What We're Looking For
Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent) or a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field are required.
Extensive (>5 years) proven experience in senior finance roles, including at least 3 years at Financial Controller level preferably in the distribution sector.
Thorough understanding of UK financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards (e.g., UK GAAP).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Proficient in financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
Excellent knowledge of financial software and ERP systems; experience with Xero, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record and solid experience managing the full payroll cycle, from processing to compliance.
Demonstrated experience in implementing and improving financial control processes and systems.
Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing finance team.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience in an audit firm would be preferred but is not essential.
