Job Title:

Senior Groomer

Starting Salary:

30,000+

Additional Benefits:

Biannual performance-based bonus scheme. Up to 2,000 per year for the senior team. Team days out and BBQs throughout the year.

Hours:

Tuesday - Saturday: 7.30 am - 5 pm. The rota is provided before each month. Additional hours: Night walks paid at 25 between 7.30 pm - 8.30 pm, a maximum of 1 a week in the off-peak season and 2 a week during peak season.

Contract:

Full-time, permanent

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity to lead the in-house grooming team at the UK's leading Canine Training and Activity Holiday establishment. This is a multi-faceted role within a close-knit team.

Duties:

Grooming 'The Dog House Way', bathing & drying. Must be able to groom a minimum of 5 dogs a day. Handling and exercising groups of dogs, including 1-2 weekly night walks. Preparing food and medication for each of our guests. Follow strict guidelines to maintain the cleanliness of our guests' areas to the highest standards, including cleaning and disinfecting animal accommodation, food preparation areas, laundry and outside areas. Carry out regular health checks and report any physical changes. Photo-taking for our Instagram. Assisting with Training. Ad-Hoc duties as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

You will be reliable, upbeat and in good shape with an eye for detail. You are able to take responsibility for your time, ensuring you complete given tasks promptly. You will be proactive, comfortable handling a range of dogs and have good common sense. You will be a great team worker and communicator, able to delegate tasks and provide regular feedback for owners and management. You are organised and enjoy planning.

SKILLS (Great to have, however not a necessity):

Highly skilled at clipping and experience with hand stripping. Experience with grooming a range of dogs, including maintaining ears, teeth and nails. Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification preferred. Experience with dog welfare, and medication. Experience/understanding of canine nutrition. Experience with dog training and/or behaviourist. Good photo & video-taking skills.
