Job Description

The Domestic Abuse Harmful Behaviour Case Manager is responsible for leading and implementing interventions aimed at addressing, changing, and disrupting, harmful behaviour exhibited by perpetrators of domestic abuse. This role requires working with a caseload of individuals who engage in abusive behaviour to proactively facilitate and coordinate responses that incorporate: multi-agency actions to disrupt abusive behaviour, support to address additional needs that otherwise stand in the way of the change process, denial focused behaviour change, and promoting victim safety. The Case Manager will collaborate with partner agencies, develop intervention plans, provide ongoing support to achieve positive outcomes, and serve as an expert in responding to those who harm.

1. Interagency Work Advocate, negotiate and liaise with other professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies and with other key stakeholders in order to maximise resources for risk reduction for victims and their children Establish strong working relationships with partner agencies, Childrens Social Care, Police, Probation, Health Work closely with the Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA)s supporting the partners, ex-partners and new partners, and family members of service users in management risk and developing intervention plans. May 25 OFFICIAL Share information when potential risks are identified about any previously unknown victims. Refer to the Domestic Abuse Hub/Marac as appropriate Collaborate with external organisations to access additional support services for individuals, such as counselling or substance use treatment.



2. Direct work with clients Carry out regular risk and needs assessments within agreed procedures, to determine specific individual client needs in order to construct or revise an individual Care Plan Ensure that clients understand that services will ensure that they are accountable for continued use harmful behaviour towards others Utilize motivational interviewing and evidence-based techniques to promote behaviour change. Work closely with individuals to address underlying factors contributing to harmful behaviour or acting as a barrier to engage with behaviour change e.g. problematic substance use, mental ill health and homelessness.



3. Institutional Advocacy Act as an expert in responding to those who harm, providing advice and guidance to colleagues in children's social care and early help. Participate in institutional advocacy to influence policies and practices that address harmful behaviour and domestic abuse.



4. Case Management and record keeping Manage a high risk and often complex domestic abuse case load in order to reduce the risk of harm to the victim and their family Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, documentation and intervention plans Compile regular reports for internal and external stakeholders Ensure all records are kept in compliance with relevant data protection policy, procedures and legislation.



5. Multi-Agency Meetings Participate in Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs) and Child Protection Case Conferences and contribute insights to enhance case planning and coordination.



6. Service and project development Represent the service at local events, deliver training and presentations to raise awareness of the intervention and secure engagement from multi-agency partners Contribute to the ongoing development of the service and intervention including participating in evaluation and research The job holder may be required at any time to undertake any work up to and/or at a level consistent with existing responsibilities. These tasks may be at any location in Cheshire East, to ensure the effective deployment of labour, materials, transport and equipment to meet daily service requirements.
