Senior Health Care Assistant (Nights)

Hours:

Average of 30 hours per week, 8 PM - 8 AM

Contract:

Week 1: Thursday and Friday, Week 2: Thursday, Friday and Saturday

Salary:

13.10 per hour

Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a team of care assistants, ensuring they provide the highest quality of care and support to residents. Ensure safe and effective handover across the team and allocating care assistants to tasks when needed. Work as a team in ensuring support of all colleagues with other additional duties. Mentor and support Junior staff, providing guidance, nest practices, care techniques, and personal development. Administer and manage medications to residents following the best practices around Safe handling of medications. Ensuring the medication policy is adhered to. Ensure the personal care, dignity, and well being of residents is maintained at all times. Assist residents with personal care tasks such as dressing, bathing, feeding and mobility, respecting their dignity and privacy. Monitor health and welfare of residents and report any changes in condition or behaviour to the relevant clinician and management team. This can include liaising with a mired of people including district nurses, GP.s NHS services etc. Ensure resident care plans are followed, providing person-centered care. Promote and maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for all residents. Ensure the safeguarding of residents and report concerns. Ensure and promote health and safety and infection prevention and control policies and procedures are followed. This includes the use of PPE and handwashing.

Requirements:

NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care and willingness to work towards Level 3. Experience in administration and safe handling of medication is essential. Must be kind and compassionate. Job offer dependent on appropriate DBS and references. Probationary period applies.
