Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Healthcare Support Worker, who is phlebotomy trained.



The role will involve working as part of the care team in Greenwich ICMP East team, working alongside 3 colleagues to manage a caseload of clients with their mental health and wellbeing. Supporting them to achieve their goals in working towards recovery.



Working under the guidance of a Registered Mental Health Nurse to implement the delivery of quality nursing care, contributing to the physical, psychological, social, recreational, and spiritual care in a recovery-focused way through therapeutic engagement and activities, and taking steps to address any issues that arise. The job includes.

Ability to take clinical instruction from qualified staffs, attend CPA review and document on RIO, complete Risk Assessment, Care Plan and attend home visit when required.

Recognising and valuing service users as individuals, acknowledging the importance of always maintaining the service user's respect and dignity and ensure that the care provided respects equality and diversity.

Implementing the principles of 'recovery':

encouraging and supporting service users to engage with healthy lifestyles, facilitating psychosocial activities and other activities of their interest.

Ability to run the physical health clinic and report any concerns immediately to the Doctors, CCOs, the Team Manager and follow up recommended treatment plan.

Monitoring and recording service user clinical observations, such as physical observations and vital signs and escalating as appropriate any signs or symptoms of deterioration or that do not fulfil the personal parameters to the relevant professional.

Ensuring that community support needs are met under direction of a senior clinician.

Providing emotional support to individuals and their families.



Attending CPA reviews, attending ward rounds, home visits, working alongside the qualified staff, according to care plans. Providing practical support for individuals and their families, such as helping with household tasks, personal care, and paperwork, such as risk assessment, etc. Supporting and monitoring their healthcare needs, including administering medication and temperature checks.



Supporting them to pursue hobbies and interests. Supporting the learning of new skills or gaining employment. Teaching life skills, such as budgeting and paying bills. Helping with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, writing a shopping list, going shopping or maintaining their housing tenancy. Helping them to access community facilities and be included in community groups. Understanding their communication needs and adapting your communication to each individual, e.g. sounds, tones, body language.



Working with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support. Analysing an individual's needs and drawing up a focused support plan. Becoming both a role model and companion to the individual and uncovering shared interests, such as hobbies and outings.



Running a physical health clinic, taking bloods, using the Pochi to analyse the result and send any concern to the Doctors, CCOs, ability to contact Xtars and follow instructions.
