Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic flexible individual with previous experience of working as a Senior Healthcare Assistant (NHS Care Certificate completed) to join our team to provide high quality nursing care to patients within the specialist Gynaecology outpatient clinics.



This is an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge and skills and to make a difference to the patient experience. This post will enable the successful candidate the opportunity to work within Women's Health and care for women who require a broad range of specialist investigations, procedures and treatment in an outpatient setting giving rise to a varied and interesting role.

Working as a Senior Healthcare Support Worker will involve carrying out assigned tasks involved with direct patient care whilst maintaining the privacy and dignity of patients. This will be whilst demonstrating excellent care, compassion and communication, and in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse or Nursing Associate, incorporating:



Assist in the effective management of patients attending Gynaecology Outp atients including during planned and unplanned Gynaecological procedures, examinations and treatments



Undertaking training and competencies related to the role



Undertaking and recording of Vital Signs



Infection Prevention and Control

Our Healthcare Support Workers are at the heart of providing direct patient centred care, supporting the smooth running of the general and diagnostic procedure outpatient clinics, the Medical staff, the Specialist Nurses and the wider nursing team within the department



The role is varied, equally challenging and rewarding, where you will have the opportunity to really make a difference to the experience of our patients. The role includes: -



Assisting in the effective management of patients attending Gynaecology out patients including during planned and unplanned Gynaecological procedures, examinations and treatments



Setting-up of specialist gynaecology outpatient diagnostic and treatment clinics - including particular attention to infection control; and patient & equipment safety



Assisting and support operator/clinician of specialist outpatient diagnostic and treatment clinics whilst maintaining good communication with patients prior to and throughout procedures



Chaperoning patients undergoing clinical procedures and treatments, providing reassurance to patient and advocacy for the patient whilst ensuring patients' privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.



Providing a welcoming environment to women arriving for appointments



Managing allocated clinics under non direct supervision of the registered nurse in charge



Be responsible for maintaining and promoting the tidiness and cleanliness of all patient areas including clinics /treatment rooms, store room, sluice and waiting areas.
