Job Description


Our HR team is evolving and with it, new posts and opportunities are available. This is a new role, acting as the first point of contact alongside our other Senior HR Advisor, for advice and support across multiple directorates within the business. In this post, you have the opportunity to capitalise on a broad array of responsibilities and develop both yourself and the role. There\'s a lot going on in this team currently, from upgrading our processes to online systems and big TUPE projects in the pipeline, its an exciting period of time for any HR professional to get stuck in. You\'ll be responsible for providing the HR Business Partners with a strategic, enabling service - whilst not being afraid to challenge the status-quo. Please note that this role is is being advertised over the festive period, and applications will be reviewed from w.c. 8th January 2024. What will you be doing?

  • Provide advice and support to managers on a wide variety of HR processes, including probation, attendance, performance and conduct along with ER cases, TUPE or restructuring of directorates or teams.
  • Contribute to and work with HR colleagues on the drafting of job descriptions and applying the job evaluation process to achieve robust job roles and fair and equitable pay rates
  • .Coach new managers and lead on the manager\xe2\x80\x99s induction so that new managers understand their people management responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the development of training sessions and resources that form part of the Management Fundamentals Programme.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with managers, as well as key stakeholders, such as recognised Trade Union representatives, working proactively to understand and meet their business challenges.
  • Support HR Service Centre team on their administrative responsibilities for new starters, leavers, timely processing of payroll, including contractual changes and production of relevant correspondence and references.
  • Represent HR Services at various meetings or as a project team member providing specialist advice and support as needed.
About you
  • CIPD qualified.
  • History of working in a HR team at an advisory level.
  • Evidence of using coaching skills to develop managers competence and confidence, and keeping up-to-date with your own continued professional development.
  • Proven experience of providing value-add HR advice on employment matters.
  • Experience of dealing with ER cases from informal stage through to formal hearings and appeals.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and evidence of using using your own initiative to make sound decisions based on policy and legislation.
  • Experience of delivering HR advice on a range of employment matters to stakeholders across the entire employee lifecycle.
