Purpose of role:
As an HR Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, pragmatic and commercially focused HR support to our diverse client base. Working both independently and alongside a collaborative consultancy team, you will lead on a range of HR matters across the employee lifecycle, including complex casework, projects and strategic people initiatives. This role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to truly own your work -- building trusted client relationships, delivering best-practice HR solutions, and contributing to the ongoing growth and evolution of our consultancy.
We are open to appointing at Junior Consultant or Senior Consultant level, depending on experience, and are also exploring full-time or part-time options. This flexibility allows us to find the right person with the right mindset to grow with our business.

Main Responsibilities and Client Delivery:
HR Consultancy & Case Management
Lead on the delivery of HR support across the full employee lifecycle, including complex employee relations matters and consultancy projects
Provide timely, practical and legally compliant HR advice, aligned to best practice and commercial realities
Draft clear, well-structured HR documentation including reports, policies, contracts, letters and procedural guidance
Review, develop and maintain client handbooks and policies, ensuring alignment with current employment legislation
Support and manage client HR systems where required
Maintain high standards of quality, consistency and professionalism across all advice and outputs.
Client Relationships & Account Management
Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact
Lead or support client account management, including renewals and ongoing service delivery
Work to agreed scopes, timelines and terms of engagement
Monitor billable activity and contribute to progress, management and Board-level reporting for client partners
Identify opportunities to add value and enhance client partnerships through proactive HR support.
Learning, Development & Training
Design, create and deliver HR training sessions and workshops for clients
Confidently facilitate discussions on employment-related topics, both virtually and in person
Support internal learning and development, sharing knowledge and best practice across the team
Contribute to the development of new training offerings and consultancy solutions.
Business Development & Growth
Proactively identify opportunities for new and repeat business through client relationships
Support proposal writing, budgeting and the sales process in line with our consultancy model
Contribute to marketing activity, including blogs, website content, webinars and social media
Attend networking events, seminars and industry updates to promote the business and maintain professional credibility
Keep up to date with employment law developments and CIPD guidance.
Skills and experience:
We recognise that experience will vary depending on whether you join us at Junior or Senior Consultant level. What matters most is capability, mindset and potential.
Essential
Proven experience in an HR advisory, consultant or HR management role
Confidence handling complex HR matters and providing sound, practical advice
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
Commercial awareness and the ability to balance risk, HR statutory requirements and business needs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and travelling to client sites when required
Positive, solutions-focused and collaborative approach.
Desirable
(depending on level)
CIPD qualification or working towards Chartered membership
Consultancy experience or exposure to multi-client environments
Experience designing and delivering HR training or workshops
Experience contributing to business development or account growth
Strong IT skills and confidence using HR systems and Microsoft Office tools.
