We're a vibrant and expanding team of eight, based in Romsey, Hampshire, passionately dedicated to empowering businesses to thrive through their people. Either a full or part-time role (if part-time, ideally working days will include Tuesday and Wednesday), this position is ideal for an experienced Senior HR Business Partner who is able to influence with confidence at a strategic level, whilst also being able to tackle the trickiest of ER cases with confidence. This opportunity will suit someone who is keen to join the world of client facing consultancy, whilst also having the benefit of a supportive and knowledgeable team around them.

We have a hybrid work model, balancing collaborative time at our Romsey office (usually Tuesday and Wednesday) with client visits predominantly across Hampshire, London, and the South Coast. Please note that occasional overnight stays away from home may be required.

Key Responsibilities:



This challenging and rewarding role demands a flexible, proactive approach to delivering comprehensive HR solutions that directly contribute to our clients' success. Your responsibilities will include:

Strategic HR partnership:

Act as a trusted HR Account Manager for a diverse client base, providing timely, accurate, and practical HR advice to business owners and managers both remotely and onsite. You will work with your key clients to proactively identify and address emerging HR needs and strategic opportunities.

End-to-end project leadership:

Take ownership of critical HR projects from inception to successful completion, including:

Policy and compliance:

Develop and implement cutting-edge HR policies and processes, ensuring compliance with the latest employment legislation.

Complex employee relations:

Expertly navigate and resolve intricate employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and capability concerns.

Organisational change:

Lead and support impactful organisational change initiatives, from restructures to redundancy processes, ensuring smooth transitions.

Talent acquisition and development:

Drive recruitment projects from job design and interviewing to coaching managers, ensuring the right talent is secured across various industries. Design and implement employee engagement initiatives, including surveys and Employer Value Proposition (EVP) development, to strengthen retention and attract top talent.

Learning and development:

Identify training needs within your clients and provide training solutions, either delivered by yourself or by our dedicated Emphasis trainer.

Compensation and benefits expertise:

Lead comprehensive salary benchmarking and benefits review projects, ensuring market competitiveness, internal equity, and strategic alignment for our clients.

Documentation:

Draft essential HR documentation, including bespoke employee handbooks, employment contracts, and standard HR forms, ensuring best practice.

Business growth:

Proactively identify and develop further opportunities within your existing client portfolio, contributing directly to the Emphasis's growth and success.
As a CIPD-qualified HR professional with considerable HR Business Partner level experience, you will beeager to step into a highly autonomous and challenging role. We value resilience, composure, and a highly professional approach. You will possess:

Outstanding written and oral communication skills, enabling you to build strong, trusted client relationships and convey complex information with clarity and influence.

A keen eye for detail combined with the ability to thoroughly analyse complex HR situations and propose strategic, business focussed and practical solutions for our clients.

Portfolio management excellence:

Proven experience managing a varied and demanding workload, able to prioritise effectively, and consistently exceed client expectations.

A natural interest in continuous self-development, consistently challenging and expanding your HR skills, knowledge, and experience. You'll actively seek learning opportunities and enjoy sharing your insights with colleagues.

Curiosity and commercial drive:

A genuine curiosity about people and businesses, eager to understand their unique needs and challenges, coupled with a drive to identify and deliver commercial value.

Autonomy and adaptability:

Self-motivated and flexible, comfortable travelling regularly to clients across London and the South Coast.

A car and a current UK driving licence are essential for this role. A good sense of humour is just as important - it's a tough role, and we all need some downtime! You'll be in regular contact with the entire supportive Emphasis team, fostering a collaborative and engaging work environment.
