Senior Human Resources Officer Job description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a forward thinking HR professional to join our progressive People Services team and play a key role in delivering the Council's People Strategy.
In this role, you will work closely with senior leaders and managers providing expert generalist HR support and delivering critical interventions that help them to achieve their objectives. You will support organisational change, including restructures and TUPE transfers, and provide advice on complex HR issues such as redundancy, disciplinary, grievance, capability and attendance management. You will interpret employment legislation, policies and procedures and implement practical solutions, while promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion across the workforce. Working with key stakeholders to make continuous improvement and efficiencies within People Services and across the Council will also be a key part of your role.
You will hold a relevant professional qualification at degree level and/or have demonstrable experience at a comparable level within a related professional field of expertise. You will have broad-based HR experience in a large, unionised organisation, along with strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice. Excellent influencing, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is a proven track record of making a positive difference in HR delivery.

Blended working is available with a mixture of working from home and within the office, which is located at County Hall Beverley. The role also involves ad hoc travel to various sites across the East Riding.
