- THE ROLE -
The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is committed to transforming education and to enhancing the student experience. This has led to the development of physical and digital student-facing Hubs to provide a one-stop-shop approach to student issues and information.
The Student Hwb serves as a first point of call for student queries, and Hub staff are empowered to resolve a list of common student queries and issues without the need for further referral. The Student Hwb knits the different elements of the University together, presenting a unified approach to our students. Where referral is required, the Student Hubs make an active referral and track the resolution of student issues through to completion.
The post of Senior International Student Support Officer (Student Hwb) will work according to the agreed operating principles of the Hub, and the agreed duties and areas of responsibility. The Senior International Student Support Officer will be line managed by the Student Hwb Manager and will work closely with other officers in the Student Hwb. They will work collaboratively across a range of areas and aspects administered by the Hwb. The post holder will be required to provide a holistic student support service to international students ensuring a smooth transition to life and study in the UK and provide continued support for the international student lifecycle.
This role will require:
- Supporting in the delivery of high-quality student-centred service and support via the Student Hwb.
- Coordination of meet and greet for arrivals, airport transfers and welcome activities for international students.
- Ensuring a professional triage service acting as first point of contact for student enquiries via telephone, in-person or digitally using own judgement to identify appropriate services to which to refer students.
- Working using own initiative to deliver excellent customer service to all students through consultation with other team members ensuring that all student issues and enquiries are dealt with efficiently, effectively and with due regard to confidentiality.
The primary location will be in the Student Hwb at Carmarthen Campus, but the post holder may be expected to work across other campuses, depending on the needs of the Hwb.
