Senior IT Technician | 30,000 to 35,000 | 25 days + 8 bank holidays | Bournemouth based, Fully On site
A leading global education group is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic IT Technician to join its Bournemouth-based school. The group provides high-quality education to over 18,000 students annually, empowering them with the skills and confidence to shape their world.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, customer-focused environment, supporting both staff and students, while contributing to the wider IT team across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to staff and students.
  • Monitor, prioritise, and resolve incoming support requests, escalating complex issues as necessary.
  • Perform regular maintenance to ensure system stability, security, and compliance.
  • Assist with IT projects, implementing work packages independently or under guidance.
  • Support a broad range of Microsoft platforms, including Windows 10/11, Office 365, Microsoft Server technologies, and core infrastructure systems (AD, DHCP, DNS).
  • Mentor junior IT staff to maintain high service delivery standards.
  • Engage with technology groups to adopt best practices and ensure continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Experience supporting cloud platforms (Azure AD, Microsoft 365) and Office 365 administration (Teams, SharePoint, Entra ID).
  • Knowledge of ITIL service management processes and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience with JAMF, iPads, Apple School Manager, Apple Classroom, and Microsoft School Data Sync.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and provide effective end-user support in a school environment.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • Familiarity with MDM solutions (e.g., Intune) and network troubleshooting (LAN, Wi-Fi, VLANs, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with safeguarding and compliance technologies.
  • Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus).
