JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Manager, Learning & Development role is responsible for designing, implementing and managing impactful learning initiatives that enhance colleague capabilities and drive business performance. This role is responsible for placing talent at the centre, making leadership a signature strength and building a culture of learning at Burberry. This role has a global remit and is part of the Talent Centre of Excellence, in the People Function.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement learning and development strategies, plans, and processes for global colleagues
Use data and analytics to derive meaningful insights, identify trends and make data-driven decisions
Learning and Development:
Develop and implement Burberry's learning and development strategy in line with business objectives
Partner closely with other members of the Talent team, Colleague Engagement and HR Business Partners
Synthesise insights and work closely with wider teams to understand current organisational learning needs, using this to inform strategy and planning
Lead the delivery of a new line management training experience and determine how best to evaluate impact and effectiveness
Design, schedule and facilitate line management training activity
Design and build digital learning
Promote, leverage and track engagement of our digital learning platform for all colleagues (including mandatory training)
Manage UK Apprenticeships in partnership with Co-ordinator
Manage the learning and development budget and work with external vendors when appropriate
Connect with regional learning partners and training managers within the organisation to keep informed on current and upcoming activity
Support delivery of ongoing leadership development and leadership engagement activities
Other ad-hoc activity aligned to the People Function deliverables, such as workshop facilitation, team building sessions and onboarding
PERSONAL PROFILE:
Significant and proven experience in a global learning and development role, minimum 3 - 5 years experience
Ability to design learning sessions and materials tied to specific outcomes
Ability to build and nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Strong working knowledge of SAP/ Success Factors HR system
Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines - i.e. diversity, equity and inclusion, talent management, performance management, business partnering and retail training / excellence
Experience in retail, luxury or consumer would be an advantage
Line management experience
