Aims of Job/ Job Purpose:

The main responsibility of the post is to assist in the upkeep and development of an efficient libary service for the students and staff of South and City Collegem Birmingham. The SRO ensures that the libarary offers consistenetly high standards of advice and help to students.
This post works closely with the other SROs and the Manager of Libarary Services.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Actively co-operate with curriculum staff in finding and choosing library materials and developing service to support teaching in all areas
Assist the prioritising of itemised estimates for library spending
Support HE courses and agree enhanced facilities for them
Assist in the development of the Library's Attain pages
Liaise with other campus libraries
Ensuring the library's compliance with College policies, particularly Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities
Liaise as appropriate with external agencies
Provide leadership to library assistants
