The role

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer who can make a significant contribution to the School\'s Department for Accounting and Finance. In particular, we would encourage applications from those who have expertise in financial accounting, management accounting, auditing or taxation.

A successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • teaching, by preparing module material (including writing module units and designing assessments ), contributing to the presentation of modules including leading module teams and monitoring teaching quality;
  • undertaking research, pursuing external research funds, publishing and contributing to the faculty\'s research culture;
  • mentoring early career academics ;
  • teaching at residential schools or other direct student contact as required; and
  • contribute to the general academic and professional life of the university, including active membership and valued contributions to groups, boards or committees within the University or externally.
Skills and experience

A successful candidate is expected to have a PhD in accounting or relevant professional accounting qualification to support teaching and research in accounting, with extensive experience in teaching and research in accounting and finance.
  • A track record of excellent teaching including curriculum and pedagogical design and development and a commitment to the provision of quality service to students.
  • A strong record of research and/or knowledge exchange in the area of accounting and finance that is commensurate to the position.
  • Knowledge of sub-disciplines sufficient to teach outside areas of expertise.
  • Evidence of leadership in teaching, research and/or knowledge exchange.
  • Evidence of supporting others to succeed with achieving objectives.
