GLL is looking for a Home Library Service Officer based at Dudley Archives. The Home Library Service in Dudley offers a diverse range of adult and children's books as well as providing stock and information to housebound residents, care homes and sheltered housing schemes. The home delivery service really is a lifeline.





As a Home Library Service Officer, you'll be involved in everything from packing up of stock, daily van checks and making deliveries to customers. You'll build good relationships with our customers and your colleagues in other libraries to provide a high-quality service and ensure the Home Library service is an integral part of the community. For long periods of the day, you'll be working alone, but you can make a real impact on customer's lives as you may be one of the few people they see in person, on a regular basis.





You'll ideally come from a library background, but it'll be your enthusiasm for helping others and devotion to customer care that makes you really stand out. You'll have a passion for reading and promoting books, along with excellent people skills. It is essential that you hold a full UK driving license with no endorsements. This role can be immensely rewarding. You can make a real difference to people's lives by helping those who are unable to access the library service themselves.
