The Commercial legal team in Deloitte\'s UK General Counsel office is responsible for supporting and advising the firm in relation to a wide range of legal and commercial matters.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Commercial lawyer with significant in-house experience to provide support for a Maternity leave and during a particularly busy period. The role offers the candidate a hugely varied and interesting workload, the opportunity to be part of a high performing team and people leader responsibility for one direct report.

The Commercial work is predominantly non-contentious and hugely varied, including leading on:

  • Large scale procurement contracts and associated queries for a range of goods and services
  • Complex technology contracts including hardware, SaaS and associated licensing arrangements
  • Managed services and outsourcing contracts
  • Sponsorship, CSR, publishing and collaborations, contracts and initiatives
  • IP matters: Trademark and brand protection
  • Member firm arrangements with other Deloitte firms across the network
  • Regulatory matters relating to commercial matters

The candidate will have strong IQ and EQ and a proven ability to business partner across a broad range of stakeholders and provide proactive, commercial, practical advice to both protect and enable the firm. In particular:
  • Experienced and confident Commercial lawyer able to work on a wide variety of matters
  • UK Qualified Lawyer with a minimum of 10 years PQE
  • In-house experience (some Professional Services or equivalent large complex organisational experience)
  • Proactive, self-motivated and reliable
  • Organised with ability to manage own workloads
  • Able to balance a varied workload and multiple stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Team player with excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills and ability to influence
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to build connections
  • Highly collaborative
  • Mature and discreet, with proven ability to handle sensitive information and situations
  • Demonstrate alignment with and behaviour consistent with our Shared Values
  • Flexible approach, \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude, and ability to learn new areas quickly

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints.
