About Us:

Our UK Finance department is at the forefront of financial and management reporting for the region. We provide essential support to business heads, the Regional CEO, and Group Functions worldwide. Our presence in Europe is pivotal in connecting markets in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East with the West, offering global support and acting as the centre of excellence for product and segment teams.

The Role:
As a key member of our UK Country Finance team, you will primarily focus on the Financial Markets business. Your role will involve ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the legal entity books and records for the UK and advising the FM business on the impact of product or process change.

What You\'ll Do:

Drive Financial Strategy:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Financial Reporting, Financial Controller, and the Country CFO to achieve our financial objectives
Business Support:
  • Provide essential financial and management reporting support for our UK operations
  • Facilitate understanding, management, and growth of our complex business and operations
  • Advising the FM business on the impact of product or process change
Streamline Processes:
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of IFRS pack reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement standard processes and controls.
  • Innovate and enhance reporting procedures to improve efficiency
People Development:
  • Contribute to the development and training of the wider finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning
Risk Management:
  • Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls
  • Mitigate risks, address control weaknesses, and standardize procedures
Governance:
  • Maintain Department Operating Instructions and uphold compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Present at Functional Operational Risk Team Meetings
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and regulatory accounting
Key Stakeholders:
You\'ll engage with various internal and external stakeholders, including CFO Europe, UK Financial Controller, Group Finance, Product Control, Tax, the FM business and more. Your expertise will also be invaluable in interactions with EY.

Other Responsibilities:
You\'ll have the opportunity to participate in country and business projects, contribute to maintaining a robust financial and operating control environment, and ensure accurate and timely reporting for FM products.

Qualifications:
Qualified Accountant: Hold a recognized accounting qualification
IFRS 9 Expertise: Possess a working knowledge of IFRS 9 Financial Instruments
Financial and Management Accounting: Demonstrate a proven ability in financial and management accounting
Banking Reporting: Have practical experience with banking reporting systems and tools.
Self-Driven and Innovative: We value self-starters and creative thinkers who can set and manage their own agenda
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to drive change effectively
Education: Hold a degree-level education or equivalent
