Our dynamic in-house Global Tax Operations team are ready for a Senior Manager focussing on the implementation and operation of the new Global Minimum Tax rules to join them. If you are a qualified accountant with significant tax reporting and accounting experience, this is a great opportunity to experience and influence the implementation of a brand-new global tax regime in a FTSE 100.

Role Responsibilities:

This role will work with a project team and help lead the delivery of our response to the Global Minimum Tax rules. The role will be responsible for contributing to the design, and delivering processes to ensure we comply with our tax reporting and tax compliance requirements. Based in our UK HQ in Cambridge, UK, you will work closely with the wider group tax team, our group financial reporting and IT teams to provide insight and ensure we can meet the necessary business outcomes. You will be an enthusiastic and technically capable individual with a strong commercial mindset and you are passionate about learning AstraZeneca\xe2\x80\x99s business.

This role gives the opportunity to ensure that our Global Minimum Tax processes are efficient and effective, giving clear insight to our stakeholders.

We are looking for a candidate with tax accounting experience but as important is a problem solver, simplifier, integrator, connector and communicator. A change agent who challenges, works with an agile, positive mindset, and has the ability to think differently and make it happen.

In this role you will:

Contribute to the design of the end-to-end operational processes required to ensure we comply with our legal requirements and necessary business outcomes, working with colleagues in our IT, transactional finance and reporting finance teams. This includes:

defining a future vision for global minimum tax compliance

gaining an understanding of the new rules as they are enacted in UK and in the rest of the world,

defining the system and technology landscape to capture, store and review the relevant data requirements and calculation mechanics

understand role of safe harbours and define process to ensure we can rely upon this where relevant

designing processes to capture new data points as required in the regime

implement processes to demonstrate compliance for our group interim and year-end reporting processes

embed process for continuous improvements

Be responsible for operating the global minimum tax compliance process, including ensuring that the appropriate calculations are performed and disclosed on information returns on a timely and accurate basis. Work with advisors to ensure that local requirements are met in each territory.

Be responsible for operating the group interim and year-end tax reporting process to quantify the potential global minimum tax liability, contributing to potential disclosure requirements.

Work with advisors and colleagues to monitor international tax developments, model effects and assess their impact on the global minimum tax processes and our underlying tax landscape.

Essential skills and experience:

Qualified accountant or tax professional with strong accounting skills, knowledge of corporate income tax accounting and corporate income tax principles and awareness of global minimum tax

Strong analytical and research skills, and ability to utilise technology effectively to operate tax processes

Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills

Ability to manage and progress numerous actions in a coordinated and organised manner

Effective process management and delegation skills

Ability to work to tight deadlines
